Scarcity of Green Backpacks For Sale Attributed to BHScs

The demand for green backpacks has skyrocketed across campus, with both the Campus and HSC Stores being sold out of the specific lime-green colourway since the start of the semester.

“I just really like the colour!” says one fourth- year BHSc student, rocking a new vomit- coloured Swiss Gear backpack, adorned with home-embroidered “OMA” patches. “I’m not angry at all that I didn’t get into medical school this cycle!” Interestingly enough, photos were later found of the same student on Facebook, wearing a green backpack and captioned “#MedLife #Blessed #MacMed2022 💖🧠👩‍⚕️🏥”

Rumours of a black market trade for green backpacks have also recently come to light. With basic supply-and-demand economics making it difficult for BHSc students to properly emulate their idols, some Mac Med students have taken it upon themselves to step in and solve the issue. “I sold mine for a massive profit. The buyer, some nervous fourth year Health Sci, had to come in to personally inspect the badges to make sure it was “authentic,” but other than that it was totally worth it,” stated one anonymous Mac Med student.

Not long afterwards, reports surfaced of the campus store adding new items to their inventories, including prop stethoscopes and lab coats, knockoff Mac Med ID badges, and “I survived the MCAT!” pins. Thanks to the very lucrative “desperate BHSc student” demographic, many of these items have sold out nearly instantly.
