BHSc’s tips for beating seasonal depression!

  • Spend time outside

    • Going on walks to Cootes Swamp is a great way to go outside and meet suspicious strangers new friends. While you’re outside, don’t forget to touch some grass, I know it’s been a while since you’ve seen it

  • Eat a hot meal

    • I don’t know about you guys, but eating a hot, scrumptious, delicious, filling, and nourishing meal from Kentro does the  trick to improve my mood. My personal favourite are the scrambled carton eggs. YUM!

  • Pretend to not be a health sci

  • I know it can be daunting and scary to tell everyone you’re in the coveted Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program, so the next time someone asks, enter a T-pose formation to assert your dominance and then just hit them with the big “X” and run the other way.

  • Eliminate toxic or unhealthy people and relationships from your life
    • Whether this means blocking the ex that has never understood Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” or terminating your toxic 1G02 group by threatening their imaginary friends, you do you boo ❤
  • Talk to a mental health professional
    • Sometimes, none of the above tips can help, so the best thing to do is seek professional help. This is also a great time to practice your patience while standing in lines all day. Don’t worry if you don’t make it to the end, there’s always the wait list!
